Older versions of MIT's Cheetah robot are designed to run fast and jump high. But the Cheetah 3 is designed with nobler tasks in mind. The team has designed this latest version to assist with search missions in places like Fukushima. The robot is capable of lifting payloads and walking up stairs. Later versions of the robot will even be capable of opening doors.
