Since 2000, Vietnam has transformed into one of the most dynamic manufacturing hubs in Southeast Asia. Like other industrial countries, Vietnam started with labour-intensive manufacturing in footwear and textiles. This was followed by more technology-intensive industries, such as automobiles and electronics. The Vietnamese government has been pushing for the adoption of modern machinery and production methods in the manufacturing sector.
