Today we are going set up and configure your Brother machine to scan to a FTP server. This video may cover multiple models. Even though your machine may not match the model referred to on the screen the overall process will still be the same. You will need to gather some information about your FTP server in order to scan to it from your Brother machine. You will need to know the host address and port number of your FTP server, and you will need to know your user-name and password. If you cannot recall the information, contact your network administrator. Setup cannot be accomplished without this information. If your model has time and settings, you will need to ensure they are set correctly We'll begin by locating the IP address for your Brother machine by printing a network configuration report. From the basic function screen, press the "Settings" icon on the touch screen. Press "All Settings" Arrow down and press "Print Reports". Arrow down again and press "network configuration", Press “Yes†Once the network configuration report prints, you'll need to locate your IP address on the report. Next, open a web browser on your computer and in the address bar enter your IP address from the Network Configuration report, then press Enter on the keyboard. Depending on your network, your IP address may look different than the one shown here. If the machine is password protected, enter the password in the login box and click login. Next, you'll need to set up a scan profile. Click the Scan tab, then click "Scan to FTP/SFTP/Network/Sharepoint". To set the profile to scan to an FTP server, select the radial button next to FTP. Then scroll down and click Submit. To configure your new profile, click on "Scan to FTP/SFTP/Network/SharePoint Profile". There you'll find the FTP profile you created. Click on the profile to start your configuration changes. First select a Profile Name. For this video, we will use "FTP Scan" but you can use any name if you wish. Next, enter the Host Address of the FTP server and the port number. Then enter your user name and password. Your store directory will be the destination folder set by the FTP server. You can also change other settings such as file name, quality or document size at this time or later, as needed. Once all your settings are complete, click Submit. Finally, click “Yes†to test the connection. If you receive the “Test OK†message, your setup is complete. You can now scan to FTP. If you receive an error message, review your settings and resubmit.
