Could AI End Disease?

Using artificial intelligence to advance healthcare is the topic on this episode of The AI Minute. For more on Artificial Intelligence: https://voicesinai.com https://gigaom.com https://byronreese.com https://ift.tt/31WftGA... Transcript: One of the main things we want to do with artificial intelligence is to advance healthcare, learn how to live longer, and better lives. A couple of examples of that: IBM is working together to develop a system of mobile devices with embedded sensors to collect data on Parkinson's in real-time 24 hours a day. The hope is that this large pool of exhaustive data will yield up secrets to treating and ultimately defeating this terrible disease. Additionally the National Institutes of Health has launched a long-term health study of a million people to develop a baseline of human health and to better understand the interplay among lifestyle, genetics and health. Verily, a Google company, is also involved. Collecting and using this data in a meaningful way would not have been possible just a decade ago, and making it available to researchers could result in hundreds of breakthroughs. https://ift.tt/2k3PJqD gigaom July 15, 2019 at 06:49PM
