MIT finds deep significance for AI in the knitting of socks


Tiernan Ray tells Karen Roby that scientists at MIT trained a machine learning algorithm to pick out the stitches require to knit caps and sweaters just from feeding the program pictures and some example instructions. The implications go beyond knitting, as the technology may have implications for how computer programs are constructed.
